Please tell us a little about yourself.

Since my childhood I have been a creative person – I like colors, words, aesthetics, and calmness in everything. After my Post Graduation in Communication and Media Studies, I went on to work with one of the biggest FMCG brands in India. I worked in Trade Marketing handling branding and sales communication for seven years before quitting and focusing on my own design business. I started my Lifestyle blog in 2011 – yes time flies. Now I run a food blog, a lifestyle blog and my freelance graphic design work – yes I am living an online life. I live in Bangalore, India with my husband and an almost two year old super energetic son.

What’s one type of flooring you use in your kitchen and why?

India is quite a warm and humid place. I have vitrified tiles flooring in my kitchen and living room because I like how white and seamless they look. It is easy maintenance, can be washed, mopped whenever you like and keeps the floor cool. I however have wooden flooring in my bedroom, I love to step down on it in the morning.

I also love using area rugs and carpets during winters in various areas in the house.

Why did you decide to start a blog? What do you enjoy about blogging?

My first blog (which doesn’t exist anymore) was in college, just an outlet to emotions, ramblings, and musings. I started my lifestyle blog as my journal way back in 2011. But over the years I wanted to do something meaningful – opinions, reviews, writing about lifestyle and now running my design work.

I am quite a food obsessed soul and love baking desserts and developing new recipes – I couldn’t help but come up with a food blog too to share my creations, recipes, thoughts.

I enjoy everything about blogging – the technology, the design, the engagement. I love when someone leaves a comment and tells me they created one of my recipes and are glad with it. I love it when my blogging and design tutorials help people to create something of their own. I have made many friends over the years whom I have met through this wonderful world of blogging.

Today I am happy my blogs are working well and have made me independent and not rely on a job for financial freedom.

Do you follow any other blogs for inspiration?  If so, which ones?

I read a lot online. I love seeing who’s doing what. My interests vary from fashion, beauty, workouts, SEO, food, food photography. I am a student of life and make it a point to learn something new each day, it can be a new ingredient, a new way of cooking, a new feature in the design software I use, a new tip on SEO, a new feature of the various Social Media Platforms. I follow Shout Me Loud, Matt Cutts, Pinch of Yum, Cookie and Kate, Angie Makes for various reasons.

Can you explain a recent project or post you’ve been working on?

There are a few things that I worked on recently. Logo Design is one of my favorite zones in designing because it involves so much of thoughts and conceptualization. I have worked for various clients in different industries. Some of my works are available to see online.

This is a logo that I designed for an Interior design client recently. I love how simplicity can convey so much.

I finished some marketing communication designs for an interior design client. I love playing with colors and elements while designing. Conveying a message without having to say too much is my style.

Most of my time right now, is being spent in designing two e-books – 26 Indulgent Dessert Recipes and a Lifestyle e-book on 26 Steps to Leading a Meaningful Life. I hope to finish and publish them by mid-May.
